1. Open an image, I'm going to use this one:

2. Make a new layer (shift+control+n) fill it with a green/pink gradient. set the blending mode to lighten and the opacity at 30%.
3.Make a new layer, fill it with a dark blue navy color. Set the blending mode to exclusion. 100% opacity (assume 100% opacity or whatever looks best to you if I do not say)
4. make a new layer, fill it with a dark brown color. Set the blending mode to screen.
5. make a new layer, fill it with a salmon color. Set the blending mode to soft light, opacity 60%.
6. make a new layer, fill with a light brown color. Set the blending mode to normal. Set the opacity to 20%.
7. Use a large feathered brush (200 px is good). Set the blending mode to lighten or softlight, whichever you prefer. Set the opacity to 60%.
8. go back to the first layer (the one with your image) and sharpen once or twice. (filter-sharpen-sharpen)
